Sage is the dried leaves of the herb Salvia officinalis. The aromatic leaves are green to silvery gray in colour. Sage is highly aromatic and is characterized by a medicinal, woody/piney flavour.

Ground Sage may be used in stuffings, green vegetables, barbecue sauce, pork, lamb, veal, beef, chowder, vegetable soup, tomato soup, seafood, basting fish, and tomatoes. Use to season cheese, chicken, sausage, roast pork, roast chicken; superb in cream sauce and herb dressing.
